Corsa. Heavyweight sweats catalogued by fabric weight, from 280 to 520 grams per square metre. Currently showing 340 grams.g/m²

The weight most people wear more days of the year than any other.

If you own one sweatshirt, it is almost certainly this. Heavy enough to read as outerwear indoors, light enough that the sleeves do not fight a coat. This is the only rung where we cut the same garment in both loopback and brushed, so you can hold the difference in your hands.

What is on every product page

Three numbers,
measured the same way
on all 43.

A sweatshirt is a simple object. Almost everything that decides whether you keep wearing it is settled by three measurements taken before it is cut. None of them is a matter of taste, so none of them is written as an adjective here.

Blocked from listing

A product with any of the three missing cannot be published on this site. That is enforced in the build, not by good intentions.

01

Weight

g/m²

Grams per square metre, rounded to the nearest ten, measured on finished cloth rather than quoted from the mill's spec sheet. It is the number that decides whether a garment works in October or in January, and it is printed on the tag.

Two swatches side by side, one showing intact loops and one showing a raised pile
02

Knit face

Loopback or brushed

Two ways of finishing the inside of the same cloth, and they wear nothing alike. We never write one word that covers both, and we never let a listing leave the two blurred together.

Two identical knit panels laid side by side with rules, one slightly shorter than the other
03

Shrinkage

% after one wash

Length and width change after a single 30 °C cycle, line dried, measured against a rule. Both size charts on every product page are built from this number, so the second table is what you will actually own.

The main navigation

Shop by what
the cloth weighs.

Five rungs from 280 to 520. Each one carries the situation it is actually for, not a mood. Move the scale and the whole shop below it changes.

Why not by style

Because a 280 hoodie has more in common with a 280 crew than it does with a 520 hoodie. Weight is the variable you feel first and complain about last.

This is one of the two rungs we cut in both faces. The garments are made from the same pattern, so the only variable between them is the inside of the cloth.

03

The other half of the decision

Loopback
or brushed.

Two rungs of the ladder, 340 and 400, are cut in both. Same pattern, same weight, same colour, same seams. The only thing that changes is what the inside of the cloth has been through.

Macro of a loopback knit, showing regular rows of unbroken yarn loops on the inside faceLoopback

The inside face is left as unbroken loops of yarn, exactly as it came off the knitting machine. Nothing is cut, so there is no pile to flatten and less loose fibre to migrate into pills.

Feels warm
After a minute
Pilling
Grade 4 to 5

Loopback stays flat and pills less, but feels cooler against the skin.

Macro of a brushed fleece, showing a dense standing pile of cut fibre with no loops visibleBrushed fleece

The inside face is passed under wire rollers that cut the loops open and lift the fibre into a pile. That trapped air is what you feel as warmth in the first second. The pile lies down over months of wear, and that is expected, not a fault.

Feels warm
Immediately
Pilling
Grade 3 to 4

Brushed fleece feels warmer straight away, and the pile flattens with wear.

Neither is better. They wear differently.

The full method
04

Six seconds, one move

280 to 520,
left to right.

The whole ladder in one shot, at one exposure, from one angle. Nothing is cut between the thinnest and the thickest, because the cut is where the trick would be.

Five stacks of folded sweatshirt cloth in a row against concrete, each stack taller than the one before it
06

Matched on three things

A set is only a set
if it came off
one roll.

Same weight, same knit face, same colour, cut from the same dye lot. If any of the three does not match, we do not call it a set and we do not sell it as one.

On price

Every set costs less than its two halves bought separately, and both figures are printed on the card so you can check the arithmetic rather than take our word for it.

07

What we
do not claim.

These are casual clothes. They are not technical sportswear, they are not protective equipment, and they are not a medical device. Nothing on this site claims to move moisture, dry faster, compress anything, regulate your temperature, improve how you perform or help you recover, because we have run no test that would let us say so.

Every cord on an adult garment here is either stopped with crimped metal, closed at both ends, or built inside the channel with nothing hanging free. We do not cut sizes for anyone under fourteen.

What we will tell you is what the cloth weighs, which side has been brushed, how much it moves in the first wash, where it was knitted and where it was sewn.

Five swatches of the same knit in a row, the leftmost heavily pilled and each one to the right progressively cleaner
