On this inside face
The inside face is passed under wire rollers that cut the loops open and lift the fibre into a pile. That trapped air is what you feel as warmth in the first second. The pile lies down over months of wear, and that is expected, not a fault.
Loopback stays flat and pills less, but feels cooler against the skin.Brushed fleece feels warmer straight away, and the pile flattens with wear.Neither is better. They wear differently.

- The hood cord runs through two metal stoppers that are crimped onto the cord ends, so it cannot be pulled out of the channel in a wash.
- Care
- Wash at 30 °C. Do not tumble dry.
- Warm iron on the face only. Do not press the rib flat.
Tumble drying accelerates the flattening of the brushed pile. Line dry if you want the pile to stand for longer.
- Double-layer hood, two plies of the body cloth with no lining, so it stands rather than collapses.
- Kangaroo pocket bar-tacked at both openings.
- Two-needle coverstitch at the armhole and side seam.
- Rib cuffs and hem cut from the same rib piece.
